Sweep me off my feet already...!

I'm a romantic, still waiting for my knight in shining armour to sweep me off my feet.

In this day and age, I'm still expecting to be swept off my feet.

Here I am, a woman of 30, a professional in the corporate world, someone who makes presentations to the chairman of boards of multinationals and listed companies, who is about to be earning a five-figure salary in a couple of weeks when I start this new job.... wanting, really, really wanting to be swept off her feet.

Am I at the end of the day just a needy, romance novel heroine wannabe, wanting to be saved by the tall, dark and handsome stranger who finds me at my most vulnerable and thinks me endearing enough to fall in love with?

And then, of course, he has to sweep me off my feet.

i think most of us are secretly romantic. we can say all we want bout how we're strong women who don't need a man to validate her, but all we really want is for a fairytale romance. and i don't think there's anything wrong with it. but meanwhile having a successful career is a pretty darn good thing. congrats :)

I used to be a romantic and hope for my knight to come. Learned the hard way how much men suck. So now I'm just bitter and cynical. :)

Swept off your feet? What with a broom or all Karate Kid style? I'm more the pick you and carry you over my shoulder kind of a guy and more a jester in dark motley as opposed to knight and to complete this run on sentence, while I am tall and handsome the only thing dark about me besides the 41 tattoos is my sense of humor and choice in clothes.... Oh wait, some of my poetry is dark too.

jo - i don't think there's anything wrong either, but i guess i'm trying to understand why are we built so. the romance novels we read while growing didn't help i'm sure ;)
